23 Million Reasons to Keep Going: Sparklo x EAD

Big news from the bottle return front: we’ve hit a major milestone in Abu Dhabi — 23 million recyclables collected in just one year through the Bottle Return Scheme, led by the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) and powered by Sparklo.

That’s not just a number. It’s 544,000 kg of plastic, 18,000 kg of aluminium, and over 3.5 million kg of CO₂ emissions avoided.

With over 100 Sparklomats installed across partners like ADNOC, Lulu, and Carrefour, this initiative is making recycling more convenient, visible, and rewarding for everyone. EAD’s bold leadership, paired with Sparklo’s technology, is turning climate goals into everyday action. And it’s all part of Abu Dhabi’s mission to cut carbon emissions by 22% by 2027.
